Professional History:
Dr. Colburn has been an outstanding podiatric physician and surgeon in
Contra Costa County for over twenty-five years. His past experience
ranged from Residency Director, Physician Educator and Department Chief
at one of California's largest HMO.
He specializes in general podiatry,
diabetic foot care, sports medicine, surgery of the foot and ankle,
pediatric deformities including the correction of clubfoot. Caring and
compassionate, he has dedicated his career to being an educator of
residents and an instructor at the podiatry college. He has been
a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery since 1987.
PONSETI METHOD:
He is well-known for his treatment of pediatric clubfoot deformities
utilizing the non-surgical Ponseti Method, which relies on gentle
mobilization and casting of the infant’s feet. He has been so
successful with this approach that he has attracted patients from as far
away as Singapore and Egypt. He is the only practitioner listed on
the University of Iowa website in the San Francisco Bay Area as
"qualified" in the Ponseti Method.
